MEDINA — With 36 years of automotive experience, Steve Hlucky has opened Spring Grove Automotive, 540 E. Liberty St.
His experience level is significant, too, since the Chippewa Lake resident is only 46.
"I was changing oil and rotating tires when I was 10," he said.
He got his automotive start at his father's business, Lucky's Service Center, in Middleburg Heights. Hlucky also worked at Goodyear as the master tech, and at Christian Brothers Automotive.
Spring Grove Auto has been closed since December 2017 when Charlie Costello closed up shop. Hlucky opened its doors Monday and can fix about anything that comes through his bay doors, including domestic and foreign cars and light trucks.
"It's complete auto care," Hlucky said. "I can do anything."
Well, almost everything. He doesn't work on diesel engines.
"You can't be great at everything," he joked.
His motto will be "Quality repair at a reasonable price."
"There's really nothing I can't do," Hlucky said. "Ability wise, I can fix anything by myself."
That includes oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, shocks — just to name a few.
He remodeled the entire building and workspace that had fallen in disrepair over the years. That includes a comfortable waiting area, manned by office assistant Star Salamon.
